Articulating boom lifts differ from regular elevating work platforms, such as scissor lifts and elevating man lifts, because besides vertical movement, they are also designed for concurrent horizontal movement; in some cases, the platform from which the work is to be carried out can be rotated up to 135 degrees’ left or right motion. Basically, then, where vertical elevating aerial lifts are restricted to two- dimensional operations, articulating boom lifts are fully functional in three dimensions.
